Felicity is the second painting in my Big Bird Collection, a series I envisioned for months before touching brush to canvas. With this collection, I aimed to make each bird big and bold, with long necks and set against an abstract-style background.
‘Felicity has been created on a deep box canvas measuring 100 × 50 × 3. The background was crafted by covering the canvas in black gesso, then layering spray paint in vibrant purples, blues, and white to produce a bold and striking backdrop for her.
With Felicity it was all about her gorgeous feathers, I layered deep rich pink tones with lighter softer tones to give the feathers a true fluffy feel. It almost feels like you could give them a little ruffle.
This a true statement piece that would great in any room of your house.
The painting has been sealed using a gloss finish varnish.
